Kids Teach Kids

We filled our class bucket again and earned a community celebration! Students decided to share their talents with the class so we will have a day of kids teaching kids next Friday. Students will have the opportunity to teach and learn different things from finger knitting, origami, and drawing Pokemon. We will finalize what activities we can manage at school in the next day or two. I can provide basic supplies (watercolors, paper, yarn, scissors, glue, oil pastels, markers etc) anything specific or special that are needed, students will need to get permission from home to bring those supplies in. If you have particular questions please email me.

On the flip side, yesterday was a rough day with the substitute teacher from morning meeting first thing in the morning to community at the end of the day. We had a long talk in today's morning meeting about what happened yesterday. In their own words, they were "talkative" "noisy" "misbehaving" "talking while she was teaching" "interrupting" "arguing" and "disrespectful". We talked about how our substitutes are members of our community and deserve our respect. If we don't show them respect, they may not want to come back to our class. Students wrote letters to the substitute and made a commitment to do better next time. We had a great day today and were more aligned with our community agreements. Please take some time this weekend to talk about what happened with your child.
